Rig Skeleton Construction
Build a rig skeleton rig from scratch in Maya using the joint tool and put them in the correct hierarchy order so each bone had the proper level of weight and priority when it was skin weighted.
Rig Controls
Build rig controls using Maya's Nurbs, then placed, positioned, and renamed them to match the bones I parented them to. I then place them in a hierarchy that copied the skeleton's hierarchy, so the controls would move the exact same way the bones did.
